Georgie Girl joined our family at 5 months old, now almost 6 yrs old...
a locally bred & hand-fed baby Peach-Faced LoveBird.
She has such a "tropical island" look to her, we decided to name her after our favorite Island vacation spot, St. George Island, Florida.
The natural habitat for Peach-faced LoveBirds (Agapornis Rosiecollis) is Coastal SouthWest Africa.
Funny story: Georgie Girl was originally "George", sold to us as a male....however...about a year living with us, "George" provided us with the truth by presenting to us some unfertilized eggs in her nesting bed....we do still call her George...
